Even gods and demons do not think thus. This is why humans are said to be the most unique in the universe. But if a human never thinks why he has been created by the Lord, what the goal of his life then he is no better than the animals.

Rajyog Sadhana Blooming Life:

Nikhileshwarananda Maharaj
It was the age when chants of Buddham Sharanam Gachhaami! Rent the air and thousands were taking to the life of monk hood in order to seek Nirvana in the feet of Lord Buddha.

Shronn was then a name epitomizing the limit of epicurean and a life of total abandon. His days and nights were spent lost in the heady world of wine, women and wealth.

Then one day the Divine Grace of the Lord gently tugged at his soul. The touch instantly woke him up, and soon from one extreme he drifted into another. He became as harsh with himself as he was carefree earlier. When other monks would sit in the meditation for an hour, he would stand stork-like on one foot in the harsh sun, meditating for hours; while they had one meal in a day, he would just nibble at a handful of grains once in a week; and while they rested four hours daily, he would lie down for an hour at the most.

The severe penance had its toll on his health and the once handsome, fair looking prince was reduced to a living skeleton and his skin was roasted ebony black by hours of standing in the sun.

The news was bound to reach the Lord and one day he accosted the determined monk. “Shronn”, he said “I have heard that you play on the Sitar very well!”

“It’s true, Tathagat!”

“Well! Then tell me, can music be produced if the strings are left too loose.”

“Never!”

“Well, what if they are made too taut?”

“They shall go snap the moment you pluck at them. For perfect music the strings must be just right, neither too loose nor too tight.”

“You know so much and still you are punishing yourself so severely. Why?”

The words struck home and like lightening it flashed in Shronn’s mind that it is perfect balance which can produce the best music in life, which can bring joy, happiness, contentment and fulfillment in life.

This is what Buddha meant by Majhim Nikaaya or the middle path and this is what all savants over the ages have been preaching i.e. it’s the golden mean that can lead to Nirvana, Moksha or Salvation.

But it is an irony that a human is always swayed by the extreme, he just cannot follow the middle path time and again pulled towards one end (pleasures) or the other (Spiritualism).

A balance has to be struck if you wish to enjoy life to the full. Both aspects of life, material and spiritual – are equally important. Both have to be equally assimilated; otherwise the result shall only be problems, anxieties, troubles, poverty and tensions. Food you cannot do without but glutting yourself shall only mean falling prey to maladies; and even not eating is not going to open any doors to the Heavens, but might well make you end up on a hospital bed.

Running the whole show is the mind which takes devilish pleasure in pushing one to the limit, to the extreme. And the moment the mind stops wandering, true contentment sets in.

But to wander is mind’s inherent nature. Suppressing it won’t help. Only way out is fulfilling all wishes in life. Once you have had the taste of all pleasure, the mind shall itself remain perfectly poised. But still there is a danger of indulging too much in pleasure and the more you have of them the more the craving seems to increase.

For this one needs to give place to spiritualism too in one’s life. Both materialism and spiritualism must go together and when this happens, the most beautiful symphony of life is produced, then only shall joy flow out of your being. Think. Can a joyous, contented man be violent, jealous or greedy?

Just a material life shall reduce you to a wreck spiritually, with the finer feelings life love, kindness, compassion completely missing. And what would be the result – high blood pressure, a heart attack, and tumor! And of you neglect the material aspect, and remain ever lost in spiritual ecstasy your body shall have to suffer. Poverty shall haunt you and living in this world shall become impossible.

So it’s perfect balance which we seek and this can be best achieved through Rajyog Sadhana, a very marvelous ritual conceptualized by our ancient Yogis. It holds key to totality in life where in one can have wealth, health, comforts and pleasures, and at the same time delve into the Spiritual world.

The most propitious day for the Sadhana is Thursday. Early morning is the right time for it. Have a bath and get into a white Dhoti/Saree and sit in a calm place on a white mat facing the East. On a wooden seat spread some fresh blossoms and on it place the Poornata Pradayak Yantra. Light two ghee lamps. Offer flowers, rice grains, incense, fragrance and vermillion on the Yantra. Pray to the Guru for success. If spiritually initiated chant four rounds of Guru Mantra. Speak out any wish that you would like get fulfilled. Pick up the Poornnamadah Maalya (rosary) and chant 10 rounds of the following Mantra.

Mantra: Om Hreem Treem Poornnatvam Svaatmaasiddhaye Om Namah

This is a remarkable ritual that can completely change your lifestyle, bringing in to it a refreshing gust of newness and fulfillment. Be undoubting and fully concentrated in Sadhana. On completion take the Yantra and rosary and throw them in river or pond.
